The Blankee

Anyone who has ever been around us knows that Blakely loves her blankee and usually can't go without it. Blakely also loves to chew on the blankee a lot. She has been doing this since she was 7 months old!! (that is when the picture was taken)
She chews on it before she goes to sleep, sometimes while watching TV and when we are in the car. It is a big time security deal for her. It has come to our attention that Blakely might have some speech problems possibly due to her chewing on her blanket. It could possibly be tongue thrust-which can cause her to have problems saying her s and x. If you look at all of her pictures her tongue is always sticking out. Hopefully she will be evaluated in the next couple of weeks and we will know more. It could be that she might just have a long tongue-who knows.
So we have started to take away the blankee. At first we were going to do it cold turkey, but that didn't last since it was 11 at night and we wanted to go to bed and Blakely just couldn't go to sleep without her blankee. So...now the only time she can have it is at nap and night night time. It has gone fairly well. We have had some melt downs, but that is to be expected. Please pray that Blakely will adjust to not having her blanket and that if she does have some speech issues that we can take care of those through therapy.

3 Months Old

Yesterday you turned 3 months old. You are such a true blessing to us. Here are some things you are doing.
-holding head up very well
-sucking on your hands a lot
-trying to roll over-from your back to your tummy-you can almost do it.
-you don't like tummy time very much
-still nursing
-you still wake up about once or twice a night. The other night you woke up at 5. I was very excited.
-take good naps during the day
-you still spit up a lot, but only take meds when needed.
-love taking baths
-love to sit in our laps and watch what is going on
-enjoy smiling and cooing
-wearing 3-6 months clothes, size 2 diapers
-still have beautiful blue eyes
Overall you have become a more happier baby and are growing so fast. We love you Lilly!!

Cotton Bowl 2008-House Divided

Daniel and I went to the Cotton Bowl this year. Daniel is from Missouri and of course he was very happy. I on the other hand was a little upset. We had such a good time with Debbie, Mark and Marisa. We also got to see our good friends Carla and Todd.
Blakely and Lilly stayed with Aunt Terri.

More Christmas

We spent the weekend after Christmas with Grammy and Papaw. Your cousins Darby and Zach were there. Blakley had such a fun time. Lilly was such a good little baby and has done very well with all of our travelings this Christmas.
We went to Garvin Gardens one night (daddy had to stay at the house b/c he was sick) and had the best time. Blakely loved running around on the trails and looking at all the lights-she keep asking when we would see Santa. Lilly sleep the whole time in the sling. It was a great way to end the holiday season.

Look at me!

Blakely got in my makeup bag and found the mascara. It least she didn't put it on Lilly.
