Six Months Old

Blakely you are officially 6 months old! I can’t believe that you have been with us for half of a year. It seems like yesterday we were just bringing you home from the hospital. These six months have been the best ever and we truly love you so much.Weight: 15lbs 9ozsHeight: 27inClothes: 6-9 or 12 months and some 3-6 months clothesDiapers: size 2 or 3Eating: Still be being breastfeed and you get cereal for dinner. Dr. Cheshier says that we can start giving you baby food. You love to use your voice. You say baba, dada, mama and many others. I’m not sure you know what they mean, but it is fun to hear you say them. You still love screaming – the fun kind. I think you are going to be a talker just like your mommy. Sitting is something you love to do. You get a little upset when you are just lying there-I know you just want to sit up. You can roll over from your stomach to your back. We are trying to work on you rolling from your back to your stomach. You just aren’t that interested in rolling around. You love to grab everything and put it in your mouth. Blakely you love Jeb and Chloe (our dogs). You want to know where they are at all times. You just love watching them. The Johnny Jumper is your favorite toy! You still like being in your swing and your bouncer seat. You love music and you absolutely love when your dad sings the good morning song and dances in front of you. It is so funny to watch. You enjoy when we read to you, especially when we make funny animal sounds. Blakely everyday we seem to fall in love with you more and more. We love you so much pea potters!! Love, Mom and Dad

Their daughter Caroline is 4 months younger than you. We went to the mall to eat and then went to their house to visit. You and Caroline loved watching TV together. We will have to get you the Praise Baby DVD. Ms. Keri taught me how to make you bows. I am so excited that you will have such cute bows to put in your hair. THANK YOU SO MUCH KERI!!!We had such a great day Keri and Caroline and we look forward to doing it again. Thanks for a wonderful day!

My Two Girls

Today I let you take a nap on our bed. When I came to check on you I saw that you had a visitor...Chloe. She loves sleeping under the covers. I thought it was just so sweet that my girls were taking a nap together, even though Chloe is not supposed to be on our bed.

Bouncer Time

Blakely you have always loved being in your bouncer. When I put you in it the other day you sat straight up like a big girl. Then you started eating the side of it. I was laughing so hard. I think you would have fallen out if I didn't stop you from chopping down on the piece of yummy plastic.

Grammy and Papaw Visit

Your Grammy and PaPaw came to visit you Thursday, Friday and Saturday. You had such a fun time with them. Your Grammy's Birthday was Thursday! Happy Birthday Grammy and Mom!!! We all had a great time with you. We went shopping all day Friday, then out to eat and the only thing bad happened was we lost one of your shoes at Red Lobster. Other than that you were the perfect angel. You also got to see your Uncle Kenny for a few minutes while he was on his way to the Razorback game. Next time we expect a longer visit from Uncle Kenny. Blakely I am so happy that you are able to see your family. It means so much to me. Love you Baby Girl!

5 months old

Blakely today you are five months old. The past five months have changed so much. You have changed a lot. Yesterday I was looking at pictures of you from August 24th and was amazed of how big you have gotten. I really love this stage you are in. You are learning new things everyday. You love to hear your own voice and love when your daddy makes his voice sound funny. Your daddy is really trying to get you to say dada. He says you have already said it but I haven’t heard you yet. You love to imitate our sounds. It is so cute. When you see mommy or daddy you just start smiling and kicking your feet. When you smile it gives me this wonderful feeling inside. It is so precious. You want to constantly see what is going on around you. Blakely you love Jeb and Chloe (our dogs). You are truly amazed by them. They always come and give you kisses daily. You are trying really hard to sit up. This past weekend you sat up on your own for about 15 seconds. About three weeks ago you rolled over from your stomach to your back. Then you stopped. I am sure you will start rolling around soon. You love mommy reading to you. You love The Very Hungry Caterpillar book the best. Most of the other books you just want to eat. You are grabbing on everything. You love when we sing and dance in front of you. I am sure one day you will be a dancer and a singer. You still love your swing and your bouncer. You like being in your Johnny Jumper but you are still not sure what to do. You are still being breastfeed and are given cereal for dinner. You really like the oatmeal the best. Last night you slept from 7:30 to 7:00 this morning. WOW! I hope it continues. You take about 3 or 4 twenty to thirty minute naps most of the time. You are such a great baby and I really do mean that. We are so lucky! We love you Blakely and we want you to know that you bring so much joy to us everyday. You are truly a blessing. Love, Mommy and Daddy

My First Christmas

You had such a wonderful first Christmas Blakely. You were definitely the center of attention and were spoiled uncontrollably. We spent Christmas Day with your Great Grandma Jenna (dad's Grandmother), Nana, Grandpa Rick, Uncle Sam, Great Uncle Shawn, Great Aunt Jenna and Tristan in Malden, MO. (Santa visited our house early and dropped off your presents there.) We all had such a great time with your Dad's side of the family. Grandma Jenna just fell in love with you. She is such a great lady and I hope that one day you will learn many things from her. Uncle Sam was excited to see you too. I think he was a little scared holding you, since you are still so small. Nana and Grandpa Rick spoiled you with all the gifts that they got you. Thanks Mom and Dad Pope for all the fun toys. Uncle Shawn and Aunt Jenna also spoiled you with great gifts. We had a great time at your house and we always look forward to Shawn's cooking. After Christmas we went to Grammy and Papaws in Hot Springs Village. Your Uncle Kenny, Aunt Terri, Colby, Darby and Zach were all there. All your cousins were so excited to see you again. I didn't take any pictures there except one with your cousins. I guess we were all thinking about Granny Liz and taking pictures was the last thing on our minds. You still had a fun time opening your presents. Grammy and Papaw got you a Deluxe Johnny Jumper. You seem to really enjoy being in your jumper. Thanks to everyone for the great gifts. Blakely we hope that you will always enjoy Christmas and remember the true meaning of why we celebrate. The birth of Jesus Christ is why we are all able to come together, give presents and be with our great family and friends. We love you baby and look forward to many more Christmas Holidays with you.

Granny Liz

Dearest Blakely Elizabeth, It is very hard for me to write this to you, but your Great Granny Liz, my Grandmother, passed away yesterday. I want you to know that she loved you so much. She was so honored that you were named after her. We always called you Elizabeth when we were around her. Last week Granny got really sick and she was unconscious for three days. You and I came to see her last Thursday and I told her you were here and she opened her eyes. The next day we went to the hospital again and she was talking and responding to us so well. She was so excited to see you. I would lay you on the bed with her and she would just rub all over your little hands and feet. My mom thinks that we were what she needed to rally before she left us to go to Heaven. I wish that you that you would have been able to know Granny, but I know that she has no more pain and in a much better place. We will be traveling to West Virginia to her funeral. It will be a long trip for you and I hope that you will always be the perfect traveler as you always are. We will post our Christmas info next week.
