Happy Birthday Anna Kate AKA Anna Cake!

This weekend we went to Anna Kate's 2nd birthday party. Blakely had such a fun time. The party was adorable with a cupcake theme. All the kids enjoyed decorating their own cupcake with their cute little aprons on. Blakely loves playing with her friends and ask about them often. Blakely keep calling Anna Kate-Anna Cake-so funny!!Lilly and daddy had a fun day together while we traveled up to NWA.
A have to include this: Before we went inside to the party I told Blakely that she had to leave her clothes on and that we would not be playing dress up. She did well until Anna Kate got some princess clothes. Blakely immediately took her pants off and thought it was dress up time. Of course we had a major melt down and Grandma Boudreaux saved the day. Well I went outside to get the painting from Keri and Blakely found the dresses, crown and shoes and took off her clothes-needless to say we had another meltdown when we left. Yes, I have an obsessed princess on my hands.

Splish Splash

Blakely and Lilly enjoyed their first bath together. They both had so much fun. The next morning, Blakely got up and said "mommy, I take another bath with Lilly." Sweet little sisters.

Blakely's Room

I have added some new things to Blakely's room. I've gotten some new wall decorations, a beautiful picture from Keri(Thank you so much Keri.) and some odds and ends. I'm still trying to find a bed skirt that I like. As Blakely says "It's so cute mommy." She is such a big girl.

Visit from Nana and Grandpa

This past week Nana and Grandpa Pope came down for a visit. The girls had lots of fun playing and getting spoiled. The girls love their goodies that you brought them. Maybe next time you come it will be a little warmer.

Happy 1/2 Birthday Lilly

Happy ½ birthday Lilly Pad! You are such a sweet little girl and for the most part you are happy all the time. We all love you so much and can’t believe that 6 months has already passed.
Stats:
16 lbs 9 ounces 70%

Sleeping:You still are waking up once or twice in the night. I have tried numerous things, but not sure what to do… I have let you cry up to 20 minutes, but I can’t go to sleep with you crying so I just get you up and nurse you back to sleep-I know I’m being used as a pacifier, but mommy needs some sleep too. You do very well during the day-usually 2-3 naps a day. You always fall asleep fairly easy for your naps and when you first go to sleep at night.
Eating:I’m still nursing, but I am supplementing with formula about twice a day. You have eaten squash, avocado, sweet potatoes, apple sauce, bananas and cereals. I have been making some of your food and it is actually easy. Just takes up some time.
Playing:You are sitting up so well. You get mad when I lay you down to play, except on your tummy. You are grabbing everything and putting it in your mouth. When on your tummy, you scoot around all over the floor-you are more physical than Blakely was at this age-I guess you want to keep up with your sissy. I’m sure you will probably be crawling in the next couple of months. You love the exersaucer and jumper.Other stuff:You still don’t have much hair, but it is starting to come in-it’s a lot lighter than Blakely’s hair. Your eyes are still blue. You LOVE to take baths and love splashing in the water. You enjoy outside. You love Blakely and watch her every move. You love to smile and are ticklish on your chest and your tummy-your laugh is adorable.We love you Lilly and look forward to more smiles and giggles!!!

Two in the Bed

I was changing Blakely's sheets on her bed today and Blakely wanted Lilly to get on the bed so she could read her a book. Blakely LOVES her sissy. Today I asked Blakely if she wanted to be a mom and she said "no mom, I want to be a sister." They truly are forming a special bond.
